What kind of music do you play and what kind of events will you play for?
Whether it’s a wedding ceremony, corporate reception, private Christmas party, or gallery
opening, the music chosen is tailored specifically to suit your event and occasion. Often we
receive specific requests from individuals very knowledgeable in classical music. On the other
hand, if that is not you, we will be more than happy to make suggestions for you that reflect
your personality and wishes. Of course, we don’t offer only classical music! There are a variety
of standards, love songs, and pop tunes in our repertoire. If you can dream it, we will do
everything possible to make it happen. If there is a specific song or songs that need to be
arranged for a particular ensemble, we require 30 days advance notice an is available at a
nominal additional fee.

What kind of ensembles do you offer and which is right for me?
The most typical ensemble requested is a String Quartet – two violins, a viola, and a cello,
basically imitating the soprano, alto, tenor and bass lines of a choir. Because this ensemble is
so common, there is a vast repertoire to choose from when selecting your music. Other
common ensembles include
String Trios – one violin, viola and cello & Flute Trios – one flute,
violin and cello

Many people have a favorite instrument they wish to include at their event. A trumpet or harp
are frequently requested for wedding ceremonies. Any of the following would be possible to
include:

Harp - Piano - Organ - Trumpet - Oboe - Clarinet - Bassoon - Horn - Saxophone - Trombone

Any combination of these instruments is possible. So which is right for you? While you can
never go wrong with a string quartet, sometimes factors such as space available, number of
guests, etc. can play a factor in your decision. If you are having an intimate gathering in a small
space, a trio might be right for you. If you are a Fortune500 company having a gala event in a
convention center or large ball room, adding more instruments or even an entire orchestra
might be the ideal! In any case, if you are in doubt, we are here to aid in your decision.

Who wants to hire live music?
Someone looking for that last touch of elegance to help mark a milestone in their private or
corporate life will have live music at their special event, whether a wedding, marriage proposal,
reception, anniversary, Baptism, corporate or other gathering. Music says what words cannot
convey, and we provide an ambiance of sophistication that enhances any theme, without being
so loud that it distracts from conversation. Our ensembles can play indoors or outside, (which is
handy when there is no piano or pipe organ) and unlike a single instrument or singer, a group
of musicians offer harmony and a blend of sounds with a range that far exceeds that of any
human voice.

How much music do you provide at events?
Of course, all events are different and have various needs. We have been requested to play at
events for as little as five minutes to as much as three hours. Please let us know your thoughts
and we will do everything possible to accommodate them. We usually allow up to an hour and a
quarter for most weddings, beginning with thirty minutes of music prior to the ceremony. If you
like, we will include special pieces for seating the parents, as well as the processionals for the
wedding party and the Bride. We will also be happy to play during the ceremony (such as for a
quiet moment of meditation, a hymn to be sung by the guests, or the lighting of a Unity candle),
and of course, the Recessional, followed by some general exodus music while the guests
disperse. Some couples like to add a vocalist for a special song, a trumpet for the pro- and
recessional marches, or have the organ provide the Bride's processional music, while others
are happy for a quartet to provide all the music. We are happy to work with other musicians and
will even help you find them for you, if you like. RMWstudio ensembles book as much as a year
in advance, but will of course, always “holes” in the schedule. Call or email today for availability
and be sure to ask for your internet discount.

What can having live music do for me?
Any time you are involved in planning something that you wish to be extraordinary, or to simply
impress a V.I.P., including a string quartet or any musicians will add that final touch of elegance
so that in years to come, that event will still be talked about. Let studio work with you in
selecting music that will create the kind of air of distinction and style that YOU want for your
guests and friends.

What do I get for my money if I hire an ensemble?
With any of our ensembles, in addition to artist/performers, you get a customized musical
palette from which you may pick as much or as little as you wish to reflect your mood and
intentions for the event. The versatility and wide variety of repertoire have earned us an
enviable reputation by those”in the know,” but whether we are playing for a Gubernatorial
Inauguration, a Fortune 500 convention, or an intimate, romantic wedding, the unique blend of
wonderful antique instruments played by our ensembles will always enhances any gathering.
