For Teachers...public, private, conductors, and all.
SECTIONALS
As a product of music education in public schools, I am fiercely invested and a huge advocate for school orchestra programs. With budget cuts, over-worked teachers, and changing instrumental curricula, the challenges of maintaining standards and building your program remain heavy. At UCF, we are dedicated to helping your program thrive and succeed. After all, without your programs, colleges and universities would not have wonderful string students entering as undergraduates.
Over the years, I have given sectionals at innumerable public and private secondary schools (and youth orchestras) around the country. If it would help your students prepare for a concert or assessment, please be in touch. We will work together to find a time that is beneficial for your goals.
WORKSHOPS
Perhaps you are having a doozey of a time with a particular aspect (or with a particular ensemble) that you teach. Maybe you think your students need a BootCamp-style session on sound production, intonation, bow technique, posture...
I'd be thrilled to share my personal tricks with you and your students for a particular technique in an immersion-type class. Sometimes focusing on one small part unveils the bigger picture much more clearly.
MASTERCLASSES
If you're like me,--with a private studio of violin students--you know the benefits that are reaped when another teacher tells your student the same thing that you have preached for years, perhaps in different words. You also know the tremendous impact it has on your other students from just witnessing another's lesson.
We often only think of masterclasses as being an event held in college, as a formal presentation at conferences, or organized by institutions like youth orchestras. While these are all true and great, I like to also present them in smaller gatherings as well. If you are a private studio teacher and would find benefit in organizing a masterclass for your studio, please be in touch! I'd love to get to know you and help your studio grow.
